We, Henk (baker) and Sabine (cheese master), completely transformed our bakery in 2015 from a store that sold wallpaper, paint, and more into a bakery with two ovens. In addition to our wide selection of bread, rolls, and pastries, we also offer a fine selection of cheeses, along with jams, coffees, hot chocolate, dairy products, and deli meats...
Our specialty is our bread, rolls, and pastries made with fresh butter. On Fridays and Saturdays, we also bake fresh, crispy rolls at 4 p.m.
Our customers are mainly from Heule, Gullegem, and Bissegem, but some also come from farther away (Kuurne, Harelbeke, St. Eloois Winkel, Kortrijk, etc.) because of our delicious products. We’ve also been named the best bakery in Kortrijk twice by Het Nieuwsblad and received a trophy from “Ik Koop Lokaal.”
The price includes the entire building (which could be converted into living space with minor renovations above the bakery) and a fully equipped bakery (10 years old) with two ovens (deck and rotary), numerous machines, a refrigerated and freezer room, and more. The shop is also 10 years old and features two refrigerated display counters, a refrigerator, a walk-in refrigerator, movable bread racks, a vacuum sealer, a cash register with a scanning system, and more... Our team consists of 10 part-time employees and student workers on a rotating schedule every fourteen days—all top-notch individuals who, together with us, share our passion with our customers. Having a team ready to take over is definitely a plus for the new owners!
Why are we selling our bakery? The night shifts—baker Henk has been in the baking trade for 44 years—are starting to take their toll on Henk, and Sabine’s physical limitations led us to decide to look for a buyer who shares our passion for baking.
It’s also worth noting that there’s definitely room for growth, particularly in pastry, since a baker-pastry chef recently closed his shop in Heule. That’s another asset for a young entrepreneur to capitalize on!
