This Subsidized Program Consists of 3 Steps
Are you and your business ready for the transfer? Based on the OvernameScan, we analyze how prepared you are for the business transfer and provide insights into possible areas for improvement. After that, we determine the value of your business and start looking for a suitable buyer.
This program follows the intake interview and is intended for entrepreneurs who wish to transfer their business with an expected sale value of less than €500,000.
1. The Acquisition Scan®
Are you and your business ready for the transfer? Our experts will complete a structured questionnaire with you. Based on your answers, they will assess your readiness for a business transfer and identify potential areas for improvement.
2. What is your business worth?
Using your financial statements (for companies) or tax returns (for sole proprietorships), your business outlook, and sector benchmarks, the experts will determine a valuation. This assessment uses KBC’s expertise and the UNIZO Valuation Tool, developed in collaboration with Antwerp Management School.
3. Who is the right candidate to take over your business?
Our experts will draft the business advertisement and accompanying information package. The (anonymous) ad provides a detailed description of your business along with key figures, a strong image, and an inspiring title. Upon your approval, the ad will be shared via:
- UNIZO channels
- The online acquisition platform PlateformeTransmission.be
- KBC channels
- Your network (including social media such as Facebook & LinkedIn)
NOTE: For family business transfers, the PlateformeTransmission.be listing is replaced by a consultation with both buyers and sellers.
The information package can be shared with potential buyers after a screening and the signing of a one-sided non-disclosure agreement. It includes:
- Basic company details
- Specific characteristics of your business
- Comprehensive financial data supporting the valuation
- Required certificates for the business transfer
The Entrepreneur’s Own Contribution covers only part of the total cost, thanks to support from the Flemish Agency for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
